BRYNAMAN primary school turned into a rainbow of colour recently after pupils were asked to dress up in colourful clothing to raise money for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Charity.

The school held a rainbow-themed day full of activities on May 28 and raised £1,502 for the charity.

The money raised also included a donation from the Stabbins family - Lee and his wife Sioned along with their daughters Ellie and Millie, who are both pupils at Ysgol Brynaman. They donated £200 with a further donation of £50 from Holyhead Freemasons, of which Lee is a member.

Lee said he wanted to make the donation after hearing about the news of young Brynamman boy Joseph Yeandle, who at just three years of age has been diagnosed with a rare cancer – stage four neuroblastoma.

Joseph has received treatment at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales.

The Freemasons make regular donations to the Noah’s Ark Charity though the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Lee said: “The plan is help support the family more closely as they are desperately raising money for further treatment for Joseph in New York.”

“The story of this little boy really touched us as a family so we felt we needed to do something and made a donation to the school, but I am also hoping to hold a meeting with Holyhead Freemasons and see if we can provide future support in some way for the family.”

Joseph Yeandle’s family have set up a fundraising page which can be found here.
