CARMARTHENSHIRE MP Jonathan Edwards has visited Llangadog, Llandeilo and Llandovery Men's Shed.

The Men's Shed give men in the Towy Valley a social place to meet and use their skills. Jonathan Edwards met with members and discussed the importance of a place where men could meet to pursue practical skills and enjoy the company of others while making and mending.

Mr Edwards said he was delighted to visit the Men's Shed and was very impressed with the activities offered. The site has two large work sheds, one for metalwork and woodwork while the other for computers, 3D printing and arts and crafts. The organisation also benefits from two large greenhouses for gardening and plenty of open space to relax and take in the countryside.

Mr Edwards said: "It is great to see another Men's Shed established in the constituency and in such a picturesque location. I am a great advocate of the movement as a way of tackling loneliness and isolation.

"Many men can feel when retirement comes their personal identity and purpose is lost. This Men's Shed is a place where men can gather to work, talk and share their problems. I wish the project every success."
