A CAMPING trip to Pendine during the first coronavirus lockdown period has proved costly for a Llandybie man.
Ben Philip Bush, of Maidens Grove, Llandybie, found the case against him proved in his absence under the single justice procedure at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that Bush was caught on May 15, 2020, away from the place he was living during the emergency period without reasonable excuse, when he travelled from his home address to Pendine to go camping.
The 32-year-old was fined £1,100 by magistrates under the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020.
He was also ordered to pay a £110 surcharge and £85 costs.
