Keswick Rotary who joined forces with Calvert Bear in the five Peak Challenge to help save a much loved charity has reached £20,000 in donations.

Currently £5,000 off their target, the funds are going towards the The Lake District Calvert Trust.

Keswick Rotary Club has teamed up with Calvert Bear, the centre’s mascot to launch 'Calvert Bear’s Five Peak Challenge.'

This physical challenge, planned for May 26, will see Calvert Bear and his Human companions climb, cycle, and paddle to complete a circuit of the five peaks after which the Calvert Trust activity teams are named. (Dodd, Skiddaw, Latrigg, Grisedale Pike and Barf).

With a total ascent of over 7,500 feet and distance of over 21 miles (16 on foot) it will be a true test of endurance for the members of Calvert Bear's team who aim to complete the full circuit.

The intrepid team is optimistic they will succeed.
