TODAY will see thousands of Shropshire residents head to the polls for the for the 2021 UK Local Council Elections.

These elections will allow people to decide who governs their local area, from Shropshire Council and local town council's to the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia.

It will be a battle between the Conservatives and the Greens in Oswestry today as both parties bid to win the most seats on the town council.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.

You are required to wear a face covering while inside the polling station, unless you have a valid exemption.
