A FILM starring Dame Judi Dench and shot in locations across Wales, including Llandeilo, has been released on Sky Cinema.

Six Minutes To Midnight, which also stars Eddie Izzard and Jim Broadbent, is a period thriller written by Izzard and Welsh actor and writer, Celyn Jones.

It is about an English seaside town where the daughters of Nazi High Command have been sent to boarding school to try and spread the teachings of the Third Reich.

Izzard is the teacher who rumbles the plot and tries his best to raise the alarm but isn't believed and his co-star Dame Judi is the headmistress at the school.

Six Minutes To Midnight was filmed back in 2018 in Llandeilo, Llansteffan and Penarth and was released on Friday, March 26 on Sky and Now TV.

Filming locations in Carmarthenshire included Llansteffan Castle, Golden Grove Mansion and Gelli Aur Country Park, which was used as the school in the film.

The actress enjoyed her time at the Cawdor Hotel with head chef Gavin Oram and hotel owner Louisa Morgan.

During a break from filming Dame Judi surprised guests at the Cawdor Hotel in Llandeilo when she was spotted tucking into strawberries, profiteroles and champagne in the hotel's courtyard.

The Skyfall actress was also seen enjoying Joe’s Ice Cream during her stay in West Wales as well as doing a bit of shopping at Tesco Carmarthen.

According to Joe's Ice Cream, the executive producer of Six Minutes to Midnight treated the whole cast to a 120ml tub of vanilla Joe's Ice Cream from the Llanelli parlour.

Jerry Lockett, Dame Judi's personal driver said she loved the ice cream and described it as "wonderful".
