A LEARNER driver who failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a car has been banned for six months.

Martin Thomas, of Vale Villas, Drefach, admitted driving without due care and attention when he appeared before magistrates at Llanelli on March 31.

The court heard Thomas had no licence or insurance when driving an Audi A4 on the B4317 Pontyberem when he failed to react to the other vehicles that had stopped at traffic lights.

The incident took place on August 18, 2020.

The 30-year-old drove straight into the back of a Fiesta, which was pushed forward into a lorry.

The driver of the Fiesta sustained slight injuries to her neck and damage was caused to all three vehicles.

Thomas also admitted to two further charges of driving with no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Thomas received a six-month driving ban and was fined £120. He must also pay costs of £110 and a £34 victim surcharge.
