TORRENTIAL rain and floods brought travel chaos across Carmarthenshire over the weekend forcing homes to be evacuated.
The area saw dozens of flood warnings and alerts in place including the River Towy and River Loughor at Ammanford and Llandybie.
The Met Office recorded a month’s worth of rain in 24 hours in Carmarthenshire.
The region saw 127.6mm of rain between Friday and Saturday, which compares to an average rainfall of 98mm in south Wales for the whole of February.
Dyfed-Powys police said that people had been evacuated from their homes over a flood risk in parts of Newcastle Emlyn.
The A4069 at Llandovery and Llangadog was forced to closed due to floods.
Meanwhile Ammanford firefighters were called to two separate incidents over the weekend to rescue motorist who had become trapped in floodwater.
