RESCUE services were called out last night (Wednesday) after reports of a missing woman in the Ammanford area.
The coastguard helicopter supported Ammanford police in the extensive search of the area along the river Amman from Ammanford to Garnant and towards Brynaman.
The police were alerted to the missing woman at around 8.15pm with the helicopter dispatched at around 11pm.
She was later found safe and well by two PCSOs at the rear of Glanamman Car Wash.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a missing woman in the Ammanford area at around 8.15pm on Wednesday, January 20. Following an extensive search, with the support of Coastguard, she was found by two PCSOs at the rear of Glanamman Car Wash at around 11.20pm and returned home.”
