A COMPUTER repair man from Llandeilo has been helping to plug the gap in laptop shortages amongst school children in the area.
Disadvantaged pupils face falling behind with many still without laptops as schools once again move to online learning.
Andrew Sharpe of EasyPC issued a plea on social media for old laptops that were no longer being used or ones that might need minor repairs.
In his spare time Andrew has so far refurbished 12 laptops that have been donated to Llandeilo schools and given out to pupils in the area.
He said: "We have been overwhelmed with the response. We have managed to give away 12 laptops so far and currently have eight machines here, which I will be wiping and refurbishing this week for donation to the schools.
"What a lovely community we have here in Llandeilo."
Grateful for the donations, Llandeilo primary school headteacher, Karen Towns, said: "We would like to say a very big diolch yn fawr to Andrew Sharp. He is another community hero."
To donate any unwanted laptops you can email Andrew@easypccomputing.co.uk for further information.
The Llandeilo Covid-19 Community Support Group is also raising money for laptops for school pupils email LlandeiloCovid19@mail.com for details.
