A PENYGROES man has been made subject of a community order after admitting assault.

William Omand, of Waterloo Road, Penygroes, had originally denied assaulting a woman by beating her at Ammanford on March 13.

But he changed his plea to guilty when he appeared before Llanelli Magistrates' Court on November 11.

The bench imposed a community order on the 35-year-old with rehabilitation activity requirements and 40 hours unpaid community work to be completed in the next 12 months.

Omand was also ordered to pay £75 in compensation, £85 prosecution costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
