A WOMAN was rescued from Catbells after she fell several metres on wet rocks.

The incident happened on Thursday and the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called at 2.55pm.

A spokesman for the team said: “A female was reported to have fallen several meters on wet rock near the summit of Catbells.

“This caused some minor cuts to her face and a suspected broken thumb which were treated by the team paramedic and doctor.

“Although shaken by the experience, she was able to walk off with assistance and was then taken by her family to Carlisle hospital for further checks.”

The rescue involved 17 members of the team who were on the job for about an hour and 45 minutes.

On Thursday the team were also involved in the rescue of four kayakers in Derwentwater.
