Carmarthenshire County Council has stressed the need for residents to stick to the rules in the coming weeks in order to help slow down the spread of coronavirus and avoid overloading the NHS.

"We need to do everything we can to help Keep Carmarthenshire Safe and control the spread of Covid-19 in our communities.

"We’re all being asked to follow national guidance to help protect each other, and at times stricter measures may be enforced - such as the ‘fire-break’ which comes into force on Friday, October 23, at 6pm. During this time services will be affected and you must:

  • Stay at home, only make essential journeys
  • Not visit your extended households, this includes meeting indoors and outdoors. The only exception is for single parents who can form a bubble with another household

"Vulnerable people are not required to shield but must continue to take extra precautions.

"Whatever the current circumstances, we’re here to support you.
