A GLANAMAN drug-driver who was found with a knife has been handed a suspended sentence.
Sion Anthony, of Tan y Gelli, pleaded guilty to two drug-drive charges and possession of a knife in a public place when appearing at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.
The 20-year-old had exceeded the limit when driving a black Fiat Punto in Cwmamman Road, Glanamman on March 19.
A blood sample revealed he was over the limit for Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy) and Diazepam.
Anthony was committed to eight weeks, suspended for 12 months, for each drug-drive offence to run concurrent with a 12-week sentence for the knife charge, suspended for 12 months. The overall length of sentence is 12 weeks.
He was also banned from driving for 24 months and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.
