NEATH Port Talbot Council is urging local businesses to join its Buy Local campaign which is aimed at linking shoppers to businesses based within the county borough.
The leader of the council, Cllr Rob Jones, said: “We are proud of the way businesses, traders and retailers across the county borough have stepped up during these very testing few months, helping to serve our local communities.
“We know many of you have pulled out all the stops to make sure vulnerable people who may be isolating have received the goods they need, and retailers and the vast majority of hospitality firms have taken on board strict social distancing measures, in order to keep shoppers, visitors, consumers and staff healthy. Thank you.
“With local restrictions now in place in NPT to protect our communities from Covid-19, we want to continue to support local traders in any way we can.
"To help do this we have launched the #NPTBuyLocal campaign, giving shoppers an easy-to-use website with information on where to shop locally as well as click/phone and collect, and home delivery options from companies throughout the area.”
The companies which form part of the campaign provide:
• Groceries
• Retail
• Restaurants and Takeaways
• Support Services
• Medical Services
• Professional Services
• Property Services
If you offer any of these services – or any others - you are asked to add your details to the free online database at www.npt.gov.uk/buylocal
