Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been spotted filming in Carmarthenshire as they made a "quick trip" to Wales ahead of the new series of I'm a Celeb.

The TV presenters were visiting Wales ahead of local lockdown restrictions in Conwy - being imposed tomorrow night - in search of the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! castle.

Residents have reported seeing Ant and Dec, along with a film crew, at locations from Llandovery to Rhandirmwyn and in remote areas north of Llyn Brianne Dam.

Meanwhile, locals have reported seeing ITV crew in Llandovery who are thought to be staying in the town as filming takes place in the area.

It is rumoured Ant and Dec have been on location filming a promo for the series. ITV have yet to confirm a start date, but it traditionally begins in November and is expected to run for three weeks.

Taking to social media, Ant, 44, and Dec, 45, looked in good spirits as they posed in front a sign directing them to a castle.

They captioned the photograph: “Quick trip to Wales in search of the #imaceleb castle. If only there was a sign…”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the show was forced to move locations from Australia to Wales with the series set to film at Gwrych Castle in Conwy.

But local lockdown restrictions have been imposed by the Welsh Government in North Wales in Wrexham, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Conwy.

Under lockdown ruling people are not allowed to meet indoors with other people who are not part of their own household. Local restrictions forbid people from entering or leaving the area without a reasonable excuse.

Filming for the upcoming 20th series will still be able to go ahead as the current advice in Conwy is applicable to households and not to places of work.
