AN AMMANFORD comedian has joined forces with a fellow comic to publish a new collection of jokes and raise money for the NHS.

Gags for the NHS by Phil Evans and Dilwyn Phillips is published this week by Y Lolfa.

Ammanford's Phil Evans is known for his unique warm, friendly and engaging humour and he has performed to audiences as far afield as Oslo, Canada and America. Dilwyn Phillips is an author of several popular joke collections. As well as gags and puns this collection contains several funny stories with a medical twist.

Phil Evans said: “During the pandemic, our dedicated, hard-working front-line workers in all professions have proved that a healthy sense of humour is vital to help them cope with the enormous pressure they’re under.

"We truly appreciate the chance to write this book and give something back to them.”

Dilwyn Phillips, who was brought up in Pontarddulais and now lives in Alicante, Spain, said: “Having been an inpatient on several occasions since moving to Spain I realised how tough it can be working in the hospitals especially with the current pandemic and how much public support is needed to boost morale.”
