A CLEAN-UP operation has been launched after large gatherings of teenagers left a mess at parkland in Cwmaman.
Police attended the site at Gelliwerdd park, also known as Cwmaman tips, after a local resident spotted the rubbish while out walking.
PCSO Dayton Hughes said: "This is a beautiful area and we want people to enjoy it, but they also have to respect it and take their rubbish home. We will act on anti-social behaviour and we are looking to speak to those involved."
PCSO Hughes also issued a warning to people not to light campfires in the area. He said: "The area is a no-fire zone and whilst we want everyone to enjoy the outdoors, please think twice before engaging in behaviour that could lead to a blaze such as burning or lighting campfires."
Angry locals have hit out online with one saying: "I couldn't believe the mess when I passed it recently. It is a disgraceful mess and whoever responsible should be made to clean it themselves."
Carmarthenshire county council has arrange a clean-up.
