A CAPEL Hendre man will stand trial after appearing at court charged with a number of sexual offences involving an underage girl.

Steffan Anthony Ley McPhillips, of Brynteg, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with 15 offences.

The allegations include seven counts of sexual touching, five counts of penetration without consent, and a count of inciting sexual activity from an underage girl.

The accusations date back to 2018 and involve a victim aged 14 at the time.

It is alleged that on July 24 and 25, 2018, McPhillips sexually touched a 14-year-old girl, knowing she was under the age of 16.

Between July 1 and August 17, 2018, McPhillips is accused of inciting a girl aged 14 to perform sexual activity.

Twelve further allegations are said to have taken place on December 26, 2018.

McPhillips, 20, is accused of sexual touching without consent, and sexual touching of an under 16.

He is also accused with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, and four counts of sexual penetration of an under 16.

The defendant also faces charges of sexual penetration with a finger without consent, and with someone under the age of 16, on December 26 2018.

McPhillips was granted unconditional bail and will appear at Swansea Crown Court for trial on June 26.
