REPRESENTATIVES from Trap Agricultural Show have met with MP Jonathan Edwards, County Councillor Edward Thomas and Stuart Quick from Carmarthenshire County Council Highways Department to show them the awful condition of the road surface near Tirygoetre and the surrounding area.

As a result the Highways Officer promised that the road would be fixed and resurfaced by August.

Jonathan Edwards MP said: "I have previously written to the council's Transport and Engineering Head regarding the poor condition of the road. The Community Council representatives have been actively pushing for surface improvements for the safety of participants in the Trap Fun Run. I am delighted to support the community representatives and see the council respond positively to improving the road surface with a schedule of works now in place."

Randall Humphries, Chairman of the Show, added: “The condition of the roads in the area has badly deteriorated, they desperately need restoring.

Councillor Edward Thomas agreed: “I’m glad that I was able to coordinate this meeting with Carmarthenshire County Council’s Highways Department. Dyffryn Cennen Community Council have already notified the County Council about the poor state of the road, a road that brings a great number of people who visit Carreg Cennen Castle."
