A new driving schools for those as young as 13 has been launched near Oswestry.

Early Drivers is based in Nantmawr Quarry, near Treflach, and includes a purpose-built 750m track that ambitious young drivers – or those who want to have to have a go off-road first – can have a go at.

There are also six cars available to try out, including an automatic.

Gareth Read, who has launched the new business, said: "Early Driver has been set up to help people learn to drive. It’s available for anyone aged from 13 years.

"With lots of corners, a roundabout, practice parking area and a three point turn spot, it’s great for gaining driving experience."

The cars are hired out to the customers for either 15 minutes (£15) or half an hour (£25), but you can also try out three different cars with two laps in each for £30."

Gareth added that the circuit is also great for new drivers who are getting used to being out on the road.

He continued: "The parent, guardian or friend sits in the passenger seat and instructs the early driver in how to drive the car.

"It’s great for confidence building and is open in all weather conditions except snow."

There are also plans to introduce trailer reversing practice soon.

Early Drivers is open every Saturday between 9am and 5pm for ‘Arrive and Drive’ and bookings.

Any other time including Sundays and midweek are available for bookings by calling 07969 107108.
