Storm Ciara will bring widespread rain and gales to the region this weekend.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and strong winds on Sunday.
The storm could bring gales of 50-60 mph but could reach 80mph in coastal areas.
Frank Saunders, Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office said: βAn extremely strong jet stream will steer a succession of low-pressure systems towards the UK over the next week, starting with Storm Ciara this weekend.
"Our confidence in the forecast means we have been able to issue severe weather warnings well in advance, giving people time to prepare for potential impacts of the storm.β
Transport for Wales urged customers to check before travelling on Sunday, and said conditions "have the potential to uproot trees and damage infrastructure".
