A listed buildings fair is being organised by Carmarthenshire County Council’s traditional building skills training and education centre, the Tywi Centre.

The fair will be the first of its kind held at the centre and provides an opportunity for people to learn about the work on historic buildings.

It’s taking place on Sunday, February 9, at Newton House, Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo between 9.30am and 5pm.

Owners and custodians of traditional buildings - both listed and unlisted - are invited to attend, along with contractors, agents, architects and surveyors.

Nell Hellier, Senior Built Heritage Officer for Carmarthenshire County Council, said: “It will be an informative day with people who love your home as much as you! We’ll be here to help answer any questions and bust all those Listed Building myths.

“There will be plenty of experts in attendance with a wide range of knowledge about listed buildings, repair and maintenance, energy efficiency, training and development and the listed building consent process.”

There will be trade stands hosted by experts from contactors, suppliers, agents, architects, building conservation officers, Cadw, National Trust and many more.

Speakers will include Nell Hellier and Tom Duxbury from the Tywi Centre and Cliff Blundell from the Lime Company of West Wales.
