AN AMMANFORD teenager has grabbed third place in a national talent competition.
Mari Matthews-Wood, from Bonllwyn, took part in the Park Dean Resorts talent show at Pendine Sands Holiday Park which she won.
From that success, the 13-year-old, who attends Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth, was invited to Borth for the Welsh finals, which she won again.
From there, Mari qualified for the UK finals after winning the Welsh heats.
There were 50 contestants at Skegness in a heat which Mari topped.
From 3,500 contestants she made it to the final of 12 and took home third place, and was the top ranked singer in the competition.
Judges were Pasha Kovalev from Strictly Come Dancing, Gareth Gates, Louis Spence and Georgia Taylor.
