Plaid Cymru MP Jonathan Edwards joined the Steelworker’s Pensions campaigners as they submitted their letters of support to Downing Street this week.
With no regulatory protections in place, the steelworkers lost a large amount of their proposed pensions when their employers went bust 17 years ago.
Jonathan Edwards, who was invited by the steelworkers, has pledged to do all that he can in Parliament to end the “injustice” for the steelworker's so that they receive “what they are rightfully entitled to in their retirement.”
He said: “It was a pleasure to join the former steelworkers at Downing Street, and an honour to be invited to accompany them. When meeting with them I pledged to do all that I can in Parliament to end this injustice.
“It cannot be right that over the past two decades successive red-and-blue British Governments have not addressed this terrible injustice to steelworkers that has arisen from no fault of their own.
“I and my Plaid Cymru colleagues are supporting the steelworker’s campaign to ensure the receive what they are rightfully entitled to in their retirement.
