A FOLK dancing group is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Llandovery Folk Dancing marked the occasion with a very special Twmpath at the Llanwrda Community Hall.

The event feature well known, and much loved, popular folk band Allan yn y Fan.

The enthusiastic dancers who came along to join in the celebrations enjoyed a feast of dancing as well as a special make to mark the 25-year-anniversary.

Chairperson, Chris Yemm paid tribute to all those who organised and supported Llandovery Folk Dancing's monthly dances over the year.

Mr Yemm highlighted the fact that during this time more than 270 dances had taken place with only one ever having been cancelled due to bad weather.

He also gave special thanks to the group's secretary, Kim Turtle, who launched the organisation 25 years ago and continues to organise the bands and callers on a monthly basis.

The chairman also thanked Treasure, Jean Hughes, for continuing to keep the club's finances in good order, Penny and Keith Davies for providing the monthly refreshmens and also the Arts Council of Wales Night Out funding programme.

The funding scheme helps provide money to hold regular live music events.
