A PUBLIC meeting is being held this evening to discuss the future of Amman Valley Hospital.
Members of the Hywel Dda University Health Board trust come to the valley for talks about the future of Amman Valley Hospital at Garnant Golf Club.
The meeting will begin at 7pm this evening, Tuesday, September 3.
There was a large show of support for the hospital last summer, when proposals were put forward by the health board which would have seen beds removed from the hospital.
Hundreds took to the streets to march against the plans, and the action committee was set up to try and protect the hospital’s beds.
Cllr Madge, chair of the Amman Valley Hospital Action Committee, said: “It is a year on from our first demonstration march now.
“The trust have pulled back on what they were initially proposing, but have been working on other plans behind the scenes.
“We, as Amman Valley Hospital Action Committee, are still fighting for the hospital. We want more services, not less.
"I would ask as many people as possible to come along to this meeting tonight. The hospital is for everyone in this valley and we need to show support for it."
