A MAN has been jailed for 20 weeks after admitting a spate of thefts across Carmarthenshire, including in Ammanford and Llandeilo.
Gary Davies, currently at HMP Swansea, appeared via video link at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
He admitted eight counts of theft and one count of fraud.
Among the thefts were an occasion where Davies, 39, stole alcohol to the value of £100 from Co-op in Llandeilo on July 3.
On the same day, he also stole alcohol from Co-op in Ammanford.
From the same store he stole groceries of an unknown value on July 20.
While on May 5 Davies stole spirits from Ammanford Co-op to the value of £200.
Other thefts the defendant admitted were from stores in Drefach and Llanelli.
He also admitted one count of fraud, where, on April 17 in Llanelli, he provided false details to Northgate Public Services in order to gain £50.
For the fraud, Davies was sentence to 12 weeks in prison, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
For each of the thefts, Davies was handed an eight week prison sentence, to be served concurrently, leaving a total sentence of 20 weeks.
He was also ordered to pay £631.75 in compensation.
