A CARMARTHEN man has denied attempting to groom an underage girl online in Ammanford.

Timothy Coley, of Cross Hands Road, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 22.

It is alleged the 26-year-old sent messages of a sexual nature to an underage girl through Facebook messenger.

Coley is also accused of trying to incite an underage girl to take part in sexual activity.

He denied both charges, alleged to have taken place between July and August 2018 in Ammanford.

His next appearance will be at Swansea Crown Court on September 23.

Addressing Coley, the Magistrate said: "We are going to grant you unconditional bail to appear before Swansea Crown Court on September 23.

"If you do not come back to court at that date and time you may commit an offence and you could be arrested, fined or sent to prison."
