THE Amman Valley Art Group are holding a special summer exhibition this month.

The group will host their 'Source of Inspiration' exhibition on the first floor of Ammanford Library.

The launch of the show will take place on the evening of August 19 at 7pm.

It will then be open to the public until August 30.

There will be paintings on display of all description and mediums, with the opportunity for people to buy original work produced by local artists.

The gallery is accessible by stairs or lift and viewing is free.

A spokesman for the Amman Valley Art Group said: "Our art group members will be stewarding the exhibition, and will be only too pleased to answer any questions visitors might have about the work on display, and about the Amman Valley Art Group.

"We are settling nicely in to our new base in Station Road, and are now pleased to announce that we have our art work on display and for sale there.

"People are very welcome to call in, view the work and have a chat.

"At present we are awaiting our own art studio signage, but we are working in the new studio on Monday mornings, Wednesday mornings, and Thursday afternoons from 4pm.

"We have now also begun to welcome new members.

"Earlier this year we were invited by Ammanford town council, to produce the circus themed peep boards.

"Six of our members took up the challenge, and had an enjoyable time, whilst learning a new art skill at the same time."
