A LLANDOVERY choir has become the first to assemble and perform at Llyn y Fan Fach, Carmarthenshire's highest mountain peak.

Cor Meibion Llandovery gathered at the famous Lady of the Lake location on Saturday for, what is believed to be the first assembled choir performance at the site.

Conductor Lyn Jones, assisted by accompanist Elaine Robbins, led the choir in a number of songs from their repertoire to the delight of many hill walkers.

Afterwards there was a reception laid on at Llanddeusant Village Hall.

Local county council councillor, Andrew James, commended the choirs efforts to assemble for the historical gathering at one of Carmarthenshire’s revered destinations.

Choir member Emlyn Morgan, inspired by an idea he’d had to sing there, thanked everyone to for making the day a huge success with well over forty members being present.

The choir’s chairman Owen Bennett, thanked everyone concerned with the success of a long held ambition, finally fulfilled.
