STAFF from a Llandybie care service are holding a charity quiz to support children and their families who require respite breaks.

The team at Cartref Croeso and Pant Yr Odyn care homes are supporting the Happy Days Charity and hope the quiz will raise much needed funds for the good cause.

David Harding, Deputy Service Manager, said the homes, run by Swanton Care, wanted to support Happy Days because of the great work they do.

He said: “We support a number of young people with learning difficulties and so we know the challenges that can be placed on loved ones at times.

“The Happy Days charity is a wonderful organisation that gives families an opportunity to take a break from the pressures of providing care so their children can enjoy fun days out.

“All of the community are welcome to join us at the quiz. It should be a wonderful night and hopefully we’ll raise lots of money for a very good cause.”

Since 1992, Happy Days has been organising and funding special days such as trips to the seaside, theatres, zoos, museums, outdoor activity centres, sporting events and other educational and cultural activities for children in the UK living with mental, physical and emotional difficulties.

Last year they supported almost 26,000 children with additional needs, giving them a chance to get out, meet new people, develop new skills and build confidence in the face of adversity.

The quiz will be held at Llandybie Rugby Club, on Woodfield Road, on June 28 starting at 7pm.

People can enter teams of up to four people at £10 a team.

There will also be a bar, raffle and disco on the night.
