A CHILD was taken to hospital following an allegation of assault in Ammanford.
The incident happened at 2pm on Tuesday in the lane leading from Ammanford Park to Talbot Road.
The child was taken to hospital as a precaution but was later released without injury.
A man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police are investigating an allegation of assault which occurred near Ammanford park at approximately 2pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2019.
"A young child was taken to hospital as a precaution, and was released shortly after with no marks or injuries.
"The incident happened in the lane leading from Ammanford park to Talbot Road.
"A 23-year old male was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on bail.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Ammanford police on 101."
