A young Ammanford man will be voicing his concerns in Parliament on behalf of young people living in rural areas.

Connor Strange, will also discuss issues facing young people living locally such as transport and access to mental health services at an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG).

The 23-year-old has recently been appointed a member of the UK Youth Voice National Board - a national steering group, made up of young people from different Youth organisations across the UK -and will represent Carmarthenshire and Wales.

For the next two years will sit right at the heart of UK Youth and strengthen links between youth organisations, participate in campaigns, build relationships with decision makers and inspire other young people to take action.

Connor said: "I feel very honoured to be asked to go to Parliament to speak to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on rural services.

"I am very passionate about rural affairs and would like to see a change especially in transport and accessing mental health services for young people in rural areas.

"This meeting will prove beneficial as I will be able to voice the opinions of young people from across Carmarthenshire, and serve positive change in the long run."

Connor will also be travelling to Hampshire later in May to attend his first UK Youth Voice Group meeting where he will get to know the other participants, learning about the role and participating in some great outdoor team building activities.
