Road clear after A40 crash that left one driver trapped for a short time.

The collision - between two vehicles - happened on the A40 outside Highfield Manor, between Haverfordwest and Wolfscastle at about 7.30am this morning.

A Jaguar and a Kia Picanto required recovery from the scene.

There were no serious injuries, however, an occupant of the Kia was trapped for a short time.

One lane of the road remains closed, with police diverting traffic through Rudbaxton.

Officers say delays are likely and drivers are being urged to avoid the area if at all possible.

Ambulance and fire were also at the scene.

The road re-opened at 9.30am.

A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue said two fire engines from Haverfordwest had arrived at 7.39am.

"We were there to make sure the scene was safe, police and ambulance were already in attendance," they said.

The fire service left the scene at 8.22am.
