A MAN was taken to hospital on Friday after a motorbike crash near Gwaun-cae-Gurwen

The bike crashed on a single track rural road.

The motorbike was being ridden by a man and a woman, both of whom suffered injuries in the crash.

Wales Air Ambulance, police officers and firefighters attended the scene.

The man, who was driving the bike, was taken to Glangwili Hospital while the female passenger was treated at the scene.

The full extent of the man's injuries are not known but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokeswoman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a road traffic collision near Ammanford at 12.38pm on Friday afternoon.

“We sent one fire crew from Ammanford to the scene and firefighters assisted with first aid.

“A male motorcyclist suffered trauma to his leg and was conveyed to hospital.

“A female was also involved and she received first aid at the scene.”
