Plaid Cymru gained an extra seat on Llannon Community Council with the victory of Sion Acciaioli in a by-election in Cross Hands.
Sion gained 156 votes, with the Labour candidate second with 76 votes and the Conservative trailing with 23 votes.
Speaking after his election, Sion said: “ I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who voted for me and promise to do my very best to represent all the people of Cross Hands on Llannon Community Council.”
His agent Phil Williams added:“ It is great to have a new, young, enthusiastic member of the council.”
