Penygroes Healthy Allsorts have raised cash for British Heart Foundation Cymru by holding a red event.

Margaret Rees Hughes, a member from the group, said: ‘We’re delighted to support the BHF as it’s a charity that does so much good work.

"We raised £300 from the event by holding a healthy red food day.

"We all had a great day and were delighted with the amount that was raised."

Jayne Lewis Fundraising Manager South West Wales added: ‘I would like to thank the members of the Healthy Allsorts group for all their help and support for BHF Cymru.

"I would like to thank all the members so much for your continued support each year and it is a pleasure to meet up with them to thank them for their help and support."

Each day in Wales, 25 people lose their lives to cardiovascular disease which can devastate those they leave behind. BHF Cymru is funding pioneering research, central to discovering vital treatments for people living with these conditions.

Too many lives are lost in Wales each year, and we’re determined to do everything we can to protect more families from this devastation.

Around 375,000 people across Wales this month are fighting a daily battle with heart and circulatory disease.

Each year these devastating conditions claim the lives of more than 750 people per month in Wales alone and thanks to the members of the the Healthy Allsorts group we’ll be able to fund even more research into these conditions.”
