A GLANAMAN man will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court after admitting possessing 40 indecent images of children and animals, and attempting to incite a girl to commit sexual acts.

Gavin Evans appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 28.

The 41-year-old, of Cwmamman Road, admitted all eight charges put to him.

This included possessing six category A indecent images of children, seven category B images and 26 category C images.

Evans was also found in possession of an explicit image involving a horse, as well as admitting distributing category A, B and C images of children.

The Glanaman man also admitted attempting to incite a girl under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity, without believing her to be 16 or over.

The charges refer to incidents which occurred between February 2016 and January 2017.

Prosecutor Sian Vaughan said: “Some of these are Category A images. The guidance states that the starting point for this offence is three years with a range of two years to five years, taking it out of Magistrates jurisdiction.”

The case was sent to Swansea Crown Court.

Speaking to Evans, magistrates said: “We have heard what your solicitor has said and we are going to send this to crown court.

“You will appear for sentencing on March 22. In the meantime we grant you unconditional bail.”
