AMMANFORD Cricket Club have been recognised as the Carmarthenshire team of the year at the Actif Carmarthenshire Sport Awards 2018.
It was a very successful year for the cricket club who finished off a season in which they won a cup double by being nominated for the award.
The club’s first team lifted the Premier League T20 competition in the summer, after beating Neath in Cardiff.
They followed that up an impressive Welsh Cup triumph over Neyland, also in Cardiff.
All the while, the club also secured an impressive fourth placed finish in the South Wales Premier League last season.
At the awards ceremony, held on Friday evening at The Ffwrnes Theatre, in Llanelli, Ammanford Cricket Club’s first team saw off competition from Sospan Road Runners and Llanelli Indoor Bowls Club to claim the top prize.
