A body found on the North Devon coastline has been identified as a Carmarthenshire man who went missing almost three months ago.
Gary Shepherd-Mason, of Russel Terrace in Carmarthen, went missing on Thursday, November 15.
Despite potential sightings, there was no sign of Mr Shepherd-Mason and concern continued to grow.
A huge police search has taken place over the past 12 weeks, including numerous appeals for information and woodland searches to the north of Carmarthen.
A body was found washed at Instow, North Devon on January 17.
Formal identification has now taken place and it has been confirmed that this is Mr Shepherd-Mason.
Superintendent Gary Mills said: βIt is with great sadness that we confirm the death of Gary Shepherd-Mason.
"Since reported missing extensive searches were carried out and appeals made to try to find him. On behalf of Dyfed-Powys Police I pass my deepest sympathy to his family.β
Mr Shepherd-Mason's family have been updated and are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
Gary's brother said: "Thank you to all that have looked for him and my only hope is that he has now found peace."
