Schools in Ammanford and the surrounding area have closed as Met Office issues a yellow warning of snow for Carmarthenshire.
Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, Ysgol Tycroes, Ysgol Saron and Ysgol Parcyrhun have closed.
Ysogl Bro Dinefwr in Llandeilo will close at 2pm and Ysgol y Bedol will close at 2.30pm.
There is also an amber warning in place for parts of south Wales on Thursday afternoon.
An amber warning means severe weather which could potentially disrupt travel.
The next level would be a red warning which means dangerous weather.
The amber warning is in place from 2pm until 9pm and could affect travel plans for commuters.
A spokesperson for Carmarthenshire County Council said: "As always, our gritting crews are prepared and will respond to changing conditions as there is potential for snow showers and ice.
"Please keep an eye on weather forecasts and take extra care on your journeys."
