Ammanford 2nds - 3
Penallta - 27
AMMANFORD 2nds joined the Welsh Conference League at the start of the season, knowing they would find strong opponents and guaranteed fixtures.
Last weekend they certainly found a very strong team in Penallta, near Caerphilly.
Ammanford, with a strong team themselves, started the better of the two sides and for the early three points through a Cerith Evans penalty.
Those three points seemed to anger Penallta as their big pack of forwards soon after drove the Ammanford pack over the line from a 15 metre scrum.
At 5-3 down Ammanford matched their opponents but conceded a second try on the half time whistle, as Penallta went in 12-3 up.
The second half started well for Penallta, by scoring an early try that went unconverted, but that did not matter as Penallta went on to score two further unconverted tries to leave the final score 27-3 to the visitors.
