A drug dealer who was found in possession of three guns and Class A drugs worth in the region of £25,000 has pleaded guilty to a number of charges in court.

Jonathan Blair, 25, from Liverpool, was arrested after officers raided an address in Gwaun Cae Gurwen on January 4.

Blair was subsequently charged with possessing a shortened shotgun, two counts of possessing a shotgun without a certificate, possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, and possession of heroin with intent to supply.

He pleaded guilty to all charges during a hearing at Swansea Magistrates Court on January 7 and was remanded in custody.

He will be sentenced at a later date.

Officers can confirm that among the weapons recovered – which included a sawn-off shotgun – were two firearms which were stolen from a burglary in Ystalyfera last month.

Temporary Detective Inspector Gareth Jones said: “We know that the recent theft of four weapons from a property in Ystalyfera caused a lot of apprehension in the local community and while two were recovered within hours of the burglary, we know the public shared our concern about them falling in to the wrong hands.

“Tackling county lines drugs dealing – and the associated violence that comes with it – is a key priority for Western BCU and the arrest has ensured that dangerous weapons, a significant amount of Class A drugs, and a violent individual have been taken off the streets.”
