Having followed the five FFIT Cymru leaders on every step of their transformational journeys back in the spring, there is a chance to catch up with them again, six months on, in a special programme.

On FFIT Cymru: 6 Mis Wedyn, Lisa Gwilym will visit Penygroes resident Nic Davies , Mathew, Judith, Catherine and Leon to see how they have coped with life since their unforgettable eight-week health and fitness regimes.

Back in June, the five FFIT Cymru leaders went on to lose a total of 13 stone and over 180 inches from their clothes measurements, which brought tangible benefits to their health.

In this hour-long programme, we’ll discover if their lives have changed for good and whether they are still following the plans given to them by the three FFIT Cymru experts – dietician Sioned Quirke, personal trainer Rae Carpenter and the psychologist Dr Ioan Rees.

Rae Carpenter said: "Life is short. But without moving our bodies and eating healthily, it is even shorter! I changed my life by losing three stone and now I’m helping other people transform their lives for the better, through the FFIT Cymru fitness plan."

Dr Ioan Rees said: "Wherever the mind goes, the body follows. Therefore, it is vitally important to take care of our mental health and emotional wellbeing, to live a full, happy and healthy life."

Following medical tests at Bangor University and comparing results over the eight week period, leader Nic has had the biggest transformation in terms of health.

Nic’s fitness level has increased by 40 per cent and his fitness age has fallen by 20 years.

Lack of exercise, high cholesterol and high blood pressure are the three main causes of stroke and heart attack and Nic was at risk from all three when he started.

Staggeringly, Nic, who is a nurse at Glangwili Hospital, no longer needs to take pills for high blood pressure since following the FFIT Cymru plan and his cholesterol level has remarkably halved.

As if that wasn’t enough, Nic has also lost 10 inches from his waist and 12 inches from his chest after losing a total weigh loss of 3 stone 3.5lb.

Did the eight weeks of following the tailor-made FFIT Cymru fitness and diet plans change our leaders’ lives for good? Did Nic manage to complete the Cardiff Half Marathon, as he had hoped? We’ll get all the answers when we catch up with the five leaders on FFIT Cymru: 6 Mis Wedyn which is available to watch on-demand at S4C Click, iplayer and other platforms.
