A Gwendraeth Valley-based animal rescue centre is calling on the help of the community to clean their kennels after participating in the nationwide 'Big Clean Up' campaign.

Many Tears Animal Rescue was founded by Sylvia Van Atta, who has spent much of her life building animal rescue centres, in places as far as Israel and the USA.

She launched Many Tears Animal Rescue with her husband, Bill, in 2004.

The rescue takes in a range of animals, focusing on rehoming ex-breeding dogs whose owners are no longer able to keep them, many of which have never seen the outside world before.

The centre homes over 3,000 dogs each year.

Eager to support Many Tears Animal Rescue, the UK’s number one concentrated disinfectant brand Zoflora donated their pet specific product, Fresh Home Odour Remover and Disinfectant, to ensure a clean and safe environment for all the animals.

Sylvia Van Atta, of Many Tears Rescue, said: “We aim to rescue and care for various animals that have been neglected and abandoned.

"We are completely self-funded so we are very grateful for the donation from Zoflora, it means we can continue to provide a clean, safe and happy environment for all of the animals that are in our care.”

Zoflora’s ‘Fresh Home’ product is specifically designed for use around animals.

The concentrated disinfectant combats 99.9 per cent of bacteria and viruses including Bordetella Bronchiseptica (a cause of kennel cough in dogs, 'snuffles' in rabbits and respiratory disease in cats), Campylobacter Jejuni (diarrhoea in dogs and humans) and MRSA (antibiotic-resistant infections in dogs, cats and other pets), as well as Streptococcus equi (Strangles in horses).

Fresh Home’s unique ‘Mountain Air’ fragrance has been specifically tested to eliminate pet specific odours such as vomit, wet dog, urine and faeces whilst also being friendly to animals’ delicate sense of smell.

The ‘Big Clean Up’ campaign is part of a nationwide initiative from Zoflora, which reaches out to communities and worthwhile causes.
