A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for parts of Wales.

The Met Office issued the warning in the early hours of this morning and it is in place from 7am until noon.

Areas affected include Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Merthyr, Powys, Pembrokeshire and Swansea.

The warning states: "Bands of heavy rain are expected to cross Wales on Wednesday, with the south and southwest perhaps seeing the heaviest rain later in the morning.

"From 30 to 50 mm could fall in some hilly locations."

The Met Office says to expect spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.

Bus and train services may also be affected by delays.

Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.

Natural Resources Wales currently has three flood alerts in place - two in Powys and one in Pembrokeshire.
