THE father of an Ammanford teenager found hanged at his comprehensive school in September has launched a campaign to change anti-bullying legislation.

Bradley John was found by his sister at St John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive in Llanelli on 12 September.

His father Byron John claimed his 14-year-old son had been bullied. The school said it did not want to speculate on such claims.

Mr John is now campaigning to change bullying legislation, raise awareness of the needs of children with ADHD and is calling for an investigation into the failings around Bradleys death.

Bradley’s father said: “He was approaching his 15th birthday and lived an active outdoor life. Bradley had ADHD.

“He was an extremely talented horseman competing in showjumping and was an important part of The Three Counties Bloodhounds Hunt.

“Sadly, Bradley struggled at school where his additional needs were overlooked and he was continually bullied.

“Despite the support of family and friends Bradley took his life in school on 12 September 2018.

“His tragic death has raised many issues as to how schools deal with bullying and regards to the support of children with ADHD.

“We are campaigning on three fronts, to change anti bullying legislation into a national, accountable framework, to raise much more awareness of the needs of children with ADHD and to legally investigate and highlight and if necessary challenge the systematic failings leading to Bradley’s death.”

Before joining St John Lloyd, Bradley studied at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman and Ysgol Tycroes.

A charity darts marathon was held over 24 hours in Bradley’s memory.

The event raised more than £1,000, which was donated to a justgiving page set up by Bradley’s father.
