A MAJORITY of schools across the South Wales Guardian area have enforced an emergency school closure due to the extreme weather forecast for a second day.
Carmarthenshire County Council has announced that the following primary schools will be closed today (Friday, March 2) due to the extreme weather conditions;
- Ammanford Nursery
- Betws
- Bro Banw
- Brynaman
- Cross Hands
- Drefach
- Ffairfach
- Hendy
- Llangadog
- Llannon
- Llechyfedach
- Rhys Pritchard
- Ysgol Gymraeg Rhydaman
- Tycroes
- Parcyrhun
- Teilo Sant
- Tumble
- Ysgol y Bedol
Secondary schools Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, Ysgol Bro Dinefwr and Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth will also be closed on Friday, March 2.
Ysgol Bleanu, Ysgol Cefneithin, Ysgol Gorslas, Llandeilo CP, Ysgol Llandybie, Ysgol Llanedi, Ysgol Saron and Ysgol Penygroes are currently open.
All schools across the Neath and Port Talbot will remain closed for a second day.
Ysgol Ystalyfera, YGG Pontardawe, YGG GCG, YGG Cwmllynfell, Ysgol Cwmllynfell, Tairgwaith School, Rhydyfro, Cwmtawe Community School and Alltwen Primary school will all be closed today.
The council website states: "From time to time schools may find themselves having to close due to an unplanned situation arising, such as extreme weather and interruption to water supplies."
