A COFFEE giant is set to swing open its doors in Cross Hands next week.

The first Costa Drive Thru to come to Carmarthenshire will be opening at the new Parc Maes yr Eithin Retail Park on Wednesday, November 8.

A total of 15 new jobs have been created by the new store opening, with the majority recruited locally from the Cross Hands area.

As well as being the first Costa Drive Thru to come to Carmarthenshire, the Cross Hands coffe shop is also the first bilingually branded Costa Drive Thru in Wales.

Jamie Coffey, Store Manager, says: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming customers to our new store when it opens and being an active part of the local community in Cross Hands, getting involved with events; providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising.”

If you host or are a part of any local community group and are looking for a place to hold your meetings, please do feel free to pop into the new Costa store and have a chat with the manager.

Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Emlyn Dole, said: “It’s great to see another new business opening its doors in Cross Hands, offering more for local people and visitors, and of course new jobs for the area.

"As a council we are working hard to maximise all opportunities for growth and development in Cross Hands which is identified as a key strategic site in our overall transformation plan for Carmarthenshire.

"We have achieved a great deal already with much more still to come.”

The Guardian recently revealed The Food Warehouse would be joining the bargain brand retailer B&M in the lineup of stores at the development.

Plans for the new development, published by Fletcher and Morgan and Conygar, also feature Pets at Home, Jenkins Bakery and Domino’s Pizza.
